CLCE Definition of Leadership

The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement holds that leadership is an inclusive, interactive, and dynamic group process that brings about positive change for the community. 

Leadership development is a holistic and transformative process that encompasses both knowledge acquisition and experiential activities that result in becoming self-aware, discovering value in self and others, developing critical thinking and communication skills, becoming a lifelong learner, and developing responsible citizenship in order to meet the needs of a rapidly changing global community.
