Two simple words that can enhance and enrich your college experience. Whether it be academically, socially, or recreationally, involvement will provide you with more than just classroom academics. It's a chance to meet new people, explore new ideas, and involve yourself in projects that really make a difference. You'll have to chance to learn leadership skills that carry on into everyday life. On this site you'll find reasons and ways to get involved at the University of Arkansas, from joining a registered student organization to starting your own, or volunteering in the local community.
CLCE Mission and Vision
The mission of the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement is to engage all UA students in purposefully designed leadership education and experiential learning opportunities that support the mission of the university. Our vision is to maximize the leadership potential in each individual student in order to serve the needs of a rapidly changing world.
CLCE Values Statement
The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement affirms that leadership is an inclusive group process that brings about positive results for the community. Inherent within this definition is the idea that all university students can contribute and develop as leaders through involvement in teams, groups, organizations, and individual endeavors that require significant collaboration. These involvements reinforce and provide a practical outlet for the ideas and information that students receive in the classroom.
CLCE Goals
- Provide comprehensive leadership training, education, and development programming that will result in student leadership development.
- Continue to develop and enhance a student Volunteer Action Center that will act as a clearinghouse and planning agent for volunteer programs and services that will result in student leadership development.
- Provide purposeful leadership programming and advising to enhance the effectiveness of Associated Student Government.
- Provide high quality and effective registered student organization programming and training that will result in student leadership development.
