RSO Funding Information

Each school year, about $240,000 of student fee money will be allocated to Registered Student Organizations through Associated Student Government. The Associated Student Government (ASG) Senate elects, from its members, an Appropriations Committee to allocate the funds dedicated to Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). The ASG Appropriations Committee reviews applications, conducts interviews, and decides what events to fund. Below you will find a packet designed to explain how to apply for ASG funds.

Basic Funding Guidelines

In order to apply for funding groups must meet these minimum requirements.

  • RSOs must be registered with the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement
  • RSOs must not knowingly present false documents or information to ASG.
  • RSOs governing board or equivalent must consist of at least 3/4 students.
  • RSOs must not receive funding from other University of Arkansas fees, sporting events, living group, or living group organization.

Upcoming ASG Funding Rounds

Funding for Fall 2008

The April 2008 funding round is for RSO wishing to request money for the fall 2008 semester. It is strongly encouraged that the incoming officers attend one fo the following meetings and participate in the budget request process.

Informational Meetings
Wednesday, March 12th @ 5:30pm in Arkansas Union 509
Wednesday, March 26th @ 5:30pm in Arkansas Union 509
Thursday, March 27th @ 5:30pm in Arkansas Union 509

Budgets are due Tuesday, April 1st at 12:00pm (noon) to asgrso@uark.edu

If you request more than $1,000 you will need to sign up for an interview with the committee. Interviews will take place April 3rd- 6th, please stop by the ASG Office (AU A669) on Arpil 1st to sign up for an interview.


Spending Your ASG Funds

If your RSO has been approved for funds for the spring semester during the February funding rounds, please stop by the ASG Office (AU A669) and pick up your funding packet by Friday, March 7th. At that time you will be given your funding packet, with all appropriate forms and descriptions on how to spend your fees.
